The Challenge
We are hiring 3 entry-level Engineering Technicians to join our Construction Engineering team.
In this role, you will:
- Support senior technicians and engineers in construction inspections, surveying, testing, NPDES inspections, and construction traffic control.
- Enter project information into HiCAMS and SharePlus.
- Perform standardized and non-standardized tests.
- Compile, analyze, compute, edit, and process field data.
- Serve as a survey party crew member and perform surveying tasks.
- Perform entry-level technical work in materials sampling, testing, and inspections to determine specifications.
What You Bring
- Proficiency in detailed record keeping.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed.
- Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
- Customer service experience solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups.
- Computer skills using laptops, iPads, and applications.
- Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports.
- Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience.
- You can work safely while exposed to high traffic volume and at heights over water or traffic.
- Good eyesight to use testing instruments, read plan details, make accurate field measurements, and inspect roadway and structure components.
- Agility to climb on the substructure and superstructure of bridges.
- Ability to work outside in all weather, terrains, and hours.
- Strength to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to attend and pass certifications for sampling and testing classes and obtain and maintain QMS Asphalt and Concrete Testing Certifications.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Safety toe shoes.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
