What you’ll do:

As a Senior Electrical Tender Engineer , you will be joining our EMEA Strategic Projects tendering team in Cairo and will have as key function to support project tenders from initial review through final quotation to ensure maximum Eaton content that meeting the needs of the project.

The Electrical Tender Engineer will be a critical player in helping Eaton deliver winning, profitable bids that have a clear scope of work with accurate technical and commercial commitments. This role will require interpreting the technical packages (drawings, specifications) to identify where Eaton's offers fit and to ensure alignment including agreed CDE's (Comply-Deviate-Exceptions) for all the technical aspects of a tender.

The Senior Electrical Tender Engineer will work remotely (office based) and require good communications and organization of work to serve a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders while meeting agreed turn around times. She/He should be an electrical infrastructure ""expert"" who has worked in and around large projects and understands the types of challenges these present.

The main responsibilities:

  • Analyze incoming RFQs (Request For Quotation) from Customer

  • Determine Eaton fit (all possible products) and ability to meet customer requirements through the interpretation of tender documents and clarification communications with both customers and internal product support owners.

  • Ensure Eaton’s offer is aligning technically with customer specifications.

  • Ensure CDE’s (Comply, Deviate, Exception) documents are complete and that the final Eaton offer matches technically the customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with sales, applications, consultants, product owners, and the wider tender team such that Eaton bids are compelling and give the customer confidence in the offer proposed.

  • Assist in preparation of costing as per standard process and tools.

  • Support the development of and review offer documentation such that it is consistent with what is offered and the customer requirements

  • Ensure the specifications of equipment meets the customer’s requirements and needs.

  • Meet agreed timelines for tenders and keep stakeholders aware of progress, any constraints.

  • Perform technical risk and opportunity analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Masters (BSc/MSc) Degree, or Equivalent in a related field (Electrical & Electronic Engineering)

  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering and design experience of electrical distribution systems networks with an Services & Projects business within large scale installation for Commercial & Industrial type projects.

  • Data Center or similar critical power system experience strongly desirable.

Skills:

  • Medium Voltage Primary & Secondary electrical power

  • Power Distribution Systems and components design and requirements for MV and LV

  • Uninterrupted Power Supplies and/or backup power strongly desired

  • Eaton or similar industry product portfolio (Switchgear, LV assemblies, UPS, etc.)

  • Automation (e.g. SCADA, other control systems) knowledge for Design Configuration & Commissioning a strong plus.

  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and solving problem

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication and influencing skills

  • Ability to negotiate and drive alignment on technical designs

  • Fluent in French as well as English

  • Problem solving skills

  • Intercultural awareness
