Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
As a machine operator, you will oversee an extrusion machine that applies a plastic coating to bare copper wire or copper coaxial cable, used in data transfer and communication. This role involves setting up the machine correctly for the product being produced, using basic hand tools to switch and adjust tooling, monitoring raw materials, and ensuring efficient and accurate product flow. You will conduct periodic quality checks using measuring tools, follow a set SOP, and document results on a computer. Time management and attention to detail are critical as you will move between stations to load/unload spools and manage the production process.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate extrusion machine for plastic coating on copper wires.
Use basic hand tools to switch and adjust tooling as needed.
Monitor raw materials and ensure a steady flow and supply.
Identify and resolve issues promptly to maintain product flow.
Perform quality checks using tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Follow a Master Sheet and Process Sheet for production schedules and procedures.
Document measurements and production results on a computer.
Manage time efficiently by moving between stations to load/unload spools.
Essential Skills
Previous machine operating experience.
Ability to follow specific instructions and set procedures.
Proficiency in using a computer to document and track production.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions.
Prior production or manufacturing experience.

Work Environment
The work environment is a very clean, climate-controlled production facility, although it can still get warm. Employees work 12-hour shifts and are paid for all 12 hours, with breaks taken as a relief person rotates through the area. This schedule allows for a balanced work-life with significant time off each week.

The pay range for this position is $46280.00 - $46280.00/yr.
