Exotic Automation & Supply Project Coordinator - Assembled Solutions Group in New Hudson, Michigan

General Summary:

Responsible for executing the day-to-day project support of the Assembled Solutions team, regularly interfacing with both internal and external customers.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to, thorough understanding of Exotic product lines, handling customer inquiries, generating proposals, order entry, line-ups for assembly personnel, and successful project completion.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of Exotic’s complete product offering.

  • Complete understanding of all policies and procedures within the department and corporation.

  • Understanding of the various types of Assembled Solutions projects and timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Perform project execution analysis and tracking of updates by preparing and maintaining project status matrix.

  • Maintain project schedules and adjust according to changes in priority.

  • Knowledge of core vendor base and pricing structure.

  • Responsible for all aspects of processing an order: order entry, bill of material (BOM) entry, job order entry, engineering change orders (ECO), and job close-out.

  • Assembled Solutions open-order report resolution and order expediting, when necessary.

  • Understand product nomenclature, entry of engineering part numbers, and general product knowledge.

  • Quotation interface with sales associates (internal customers) and customers (external).

  • Accounting interfacing as it applies to contract review (payment terms, invoice discrepancies, etc.).

  • Organize and maintain an electronic file system, ensuring all job folders and related engineering documentation are closed-out properly per the quality system guidelines.

    Supplemental Job Functions:

  • Support for field applications, system designs and customer product developments/enhancements.

  • Occasionally may make customer visits to support field sales.

  • Identify key competitors/competitive products and provide feedback to management and field sales.

  • Assist with sales staff training at all levels for product expertise.

  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.

  • Responsible for profitability of company and attaining goals and objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.

  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High-school diploma.  Associate degree in business or related technical field is preferred.

  • One to two (1-2) years Fluid Power experience, specifically fluid connector and related products experience is preferred.

  • One to two (1-2) years technical support experience.

  • High mechanical aptitude with general understanding of tools and machinery. 

  • Advanced PC skills, Microsoft office suite, especially Excel.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task efficiently.

  • Excellent customer service attributes.

  • Ability to work flexible work schedule depending on demands in the department.

  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team.

  • Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.

  • Integrity; Ability to protect confidential “business critical” knowledge.
