Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for utilizing industrial forklifts, excavators, and front-end loaders to move materials. You will also be involved in loading and unloading barges, rail cars, and flatbed trucks, as well as staging various materials in the warehouse and performing general labor duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial forklifts (up to 90,000 lbs), excavators, and front-end loaders to move materials.

  • Load and unload barges, rail cars, and flatbed trucks.

  • Stage lumber, steel bars, iron plates, and pallets in the warehouse.

  • Perform general labor duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with industrial forklifts up to 90,000 lbs.

  • Excavator experience.

  • Front-end loader experience.

  • Backhoe experience.

  • Skid steer experience.

  • Heavy equipment operation experience.

  • Dozer experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with cranes.

  • Possession of a TWIC card required.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

You will primarily work outside on the shipyard, regardless of weather conditions. The work schedule typically involves working from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM each day, with a rotation of approximately two weeks on and one week off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
