Business Analyst

Full-Time

Hybrid 3 days onsite

Overview:

The Service Lines Department is focused on strategic and operational support of physician practices at HSS, collaboratively defining strategy, and executing operational initiatives to support strategic goals.

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team and to play a critical role in analyzing data, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to optimize operational efficiency and financial performance within our department. In this role, you will partner and work collaboratively with senior Service Line leadership.

​Key responsibilities:​

  • Analyze practice management data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reports to track key metrics related to practice operations, including but not limited to:

  • Patient volume and demographics

  • Revenue cycle management

  • Provider productivity and efficiency

  • Appointment scheduling and utilization

  • Interpret complex datasets to extract actionable insights and make informed recommendations.

  • Evaluate current practice management processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to redesign processes and streamline operations for enhanced productivity and cost-effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements for practice management systems and processes.

  • Ensure clear and comprehensive documentation of business requirements, user stories, and process flows.

  • Partner with IT and other relevant teams to design solutions that address business needs and align with organizational goals.

  • Assist in the implementation of new practice management systems, processes, and tools, ensuring smooth transition and user adoption.

  • Facilitate systems improvement to determine standards and priorities. collaborate with cross-functional teams, including physicians, administrators, billing and IT professionals, to gather data and insights for analysis.

  • Complete current and future state assessments, root cause analyses, organization, and environment analysis, formulate and present recommendations and action plans for improvement to Service Lines leadership. ​

  • Create and maintain monthly status updates on strategic programs or initiatives with significant ROI to be used by leadership teams and governance committees.

  • Create and maintain monthly performance metrics to be used by Service Chiefs as a tool to engage Medical Staff in Enterprise performance.

  • Collaborate with HSS’ Center for Analytics, Modeling, and Performance (CAMP) team to create, manage, and optimize reporting and dashboard visualization tools.

  • Assist Service Lines leaders in business plan documentation. Ensure asset optimization within service lines by presenting financial impact. Perform necessary research, recommend options, design financial models and methods, outline action plans and ensure implementation.

  • Plan, coordinate, manage and lead annual operating and capital budget process for Service Lines.

  • Supports revenue cycle by ensuring clinical billing is conducted in a timely manner and all related revenue procedures are captured.

  • Partners with physicians and other organizational stakeholders in implementing operational and clinical policies and procedures that impact fiscal performance.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience – Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years of related experience working with statistical concepts and analyzing business processes to formulate written and spoken process improvement concepts; healthcare experience strongly preferred

  • EPIC experience required

  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Possess superb interpersonal skills and interact effectively with others

  • Ability to synthesize information to see the big picture while effectively managing smaller details

    Skills and Experience – Preferred

  • Master’s degree

  • Strong knowledge of Tableau

  • Strong knowledge of Epic Ambulatory, Cadence, and/or OpTime

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $90,000.00/Yr.
