Overview

University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, School of Professional Studies, plays a significant role in the execution of a strategic plan that will strengthen the SPS alumni community locally, nationally, and internationally. Develop a robust menu of programs, events, and communications to increase alumni participation. Manage communications including the creation of event registrations, email marketing, newsletters, websites, and other forms of alumni story-telling. Partner with SPS Student Affairs, SPS Admissions, SPS Wasserman Center for Career Development, and other offices to manage all student-alumni programming and initiatives (e.g. events, mentorship programs, Violet Network, etc). Assist with volunteer management of department and division alumni councils and the SPS Alumni Association.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years progressively responsible experience in a higher education environment, including in alumni relations, admissions, student services, fundraising, or related field or a combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education alumni relations

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal and presentation skills

Ability to solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels

Advanced knowledge of databases

Expertise in Social Media development and management



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
