OTC Markets Group Inc Associate, Americas Business Development in New York, New York

OTC Markets Group Inc., operator of premier US financial markets for over 12,000 domestic and global companies, is seeking an Associate, Americas Business Development.  This role will engage directly with business leaders and external stakeholders on business development and relationship management.

OTC Markets operates in a hybrid work environment (three days in office, two days remotely). This position works out of our NYC office.

Base compensation for this role is $50,000 - $55,000, depending on experience plus quarterly commissions. This role also qualifies for stock options upon hire.

What you’ll do:

  • This is a hybrid role supporting both business development and client service.

  • Time will be split with responsibility for building new pipeline for the sales team for companies to join our OTCQX and OTCQB markets and supporting the account management team on incoming queries, client retention, and other projects.

  • Persistence, positivity, and the ability to handle objections are some of the skills required to generate interest amongst senior executives to schedule a large number of pitches.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and preparation are required to host consultative discussion with senior management at publicly traded companies on Investor Relations strategy and corporate objectives for trading in the US Market on OTC Markets.

  • Host strategic discussion in an organized and thoughtful manner to overcome common objections.

  • Bring a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results on a daily basis.

  • Demonstrate an aptitude to become an expert in both the region and subject matter (stock exchanges, laws, rules for trading etc). Full training is provided but success will depend on the individual having a keen sense of curiosity and the ability to continue to research and learn in their own time.

  • This is a sales role with thousands of prospects and clients; time management and a strong commitment to process is essential.

  • Candidate must have a strong sense of team ethic and enjoy working with others on ad-hoc projects to get a job done.

  • Additional duties, as assigned

    What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of financial markets or Investor Relations is a preference.

  • 2+ years in a sales role

  • Established / proven self-starter

  • Be a strong team player and able to share

  • Comfortable making high volume of Teams/telephone-based calls

  • Prior use of Salesforce preferable
