Citigroup Citi Treasury Investments - CTI Analytics Business Analyst - C12/AVP in New York, New York

Citi Treasury Investments was established in 2011 within Corporate Treasury to lead the investment of Citi’s major liquidity portfolios with oversight from Citi’s ALCOs. This involves managing the portfolios to meet all necessary regulatory requirements while achieving attractive returns. The team also conducts hedging and positioning activities for the firm at a global level to protect the firm against long term shifts in the macro environment. CTI’s Capital Markets team manages Citi’s Benchmark Debt issuance and Credit Card Securitization programs. CTI manages AFS and HTM investment securities across a variety of sectors such as US Treasuries, Agencies and MBS, as well as a range of Credit instruments such as Foreign Government Bonds, CLOs, Covered Bonds and others.

Job Description

This position is an Analyst role for the CTI Business and will require a person with the ability implement business requirements for projects related to the Consent Order, Business initiatives, Regulatory requirements (Fed & OCC), and Matters Requiring Attention (MRA’s). The main focus of the role will be the decommissioning of the current Summit Product Processor for Swaps, Debt, Money Markets, and Non-USD cash products. The Analyst will work closely with the Finance Transformation and Governance group on implementing the CTI Business requirements. These projects cross all sections of the CTI Business including the Rates, MBS, FX, and Capital Markets. The projects span all aspects of the business from P&L, Risk, Pricing, Valuation, Products, Operations, Accounting, Legal and Compliance.

Job Requirements

The Analyst is required to assist developing CTI Business requirements as the firm responds to changing Regulatory requirements (Fed & OCC), and Matters Requiring Attention (MRA’s) as well as new business initiatives developed by the desk. This role will focus on developing requirements for Economic Profit & Loss Reporting and the associated Attribution Analysis (PAA) which requires a high level of numeracy. In addition, the Analyst will be expected to act as a backup and provide ongoing support to one or more desk aligned Business Unit Managers (BUMs) who are also part of the CTI Analytics team.

The Analyst will be working in partnership with: Product Control; front office; and various technology teams and therefore strong communication skills and the ability to distill complex information into simple presentations are required. The core responsibility for this role is for the Analyst to assist with insuring that the CTI Business requirements for the project(s) are understood, documented in the BRD, and assist with the implementation of system and business process changes and the installation of technical (system) and/or operational (procedural) change. In addition, the candidate will be a key resource to help drive the digital transformation for the group. As such, financial engineering expertise, python, VBA, or other coding experience is recommended.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist on multiple projects covering business initiatives & Regulatory requirements for the CTI Business

  • Work closely with Business, Finance, and Technology partners to understand business requirements

  • Succinctly present project updates including risks, issues and general progress at an executive level on a weekly basis

  • Meticulous daily managing of your delivery schedule by using a clear & cogent project plan(s)

  • Participate and manage the authoring of Project plans, Charters, BRDs & Test Plans and overall project execution as required.

  • Work closely with business and finance partners to understand business requirements

  • Clear summarizing of key discussion points and action items upon meeting closure

  • Partnering with accountable participants to ensure prompt follow-ups are completed

  • Tracking general progress and escalating all risks and issues on a daily basis

  • Assist in BAU process, reporting, and analytic review

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate level degree a plus.

  • 1-5 years of experience within project management, financial services or consulting

  • Experience communicating with senior managers and program sponsors

  • Significant intellectual curiosity and desire to learn how Citi Treasury functions

  • Superior attention to detail and diligence sufficient to withstand scrutiny of a senior audience

  • Must be a strong influencer and have partnering skills

  • Abstract critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Good understanding of understanding of a bank’s balance sheet

  • Technical skills a plus: MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power BI

  • Ability to write python scripts or VBA is a plus.
