What you'll be doing...

Our digital media team is seeking a Digital Media Privacy Lead to oversee compliance and governance of our digital marketing efforts with national and international privacy regulations. Collaborating with Verizon's privacy and legal offices, you will review new and existing initiatives to ensure we are continuously upholding data privacy and protection. The work you do will ensure that our digital marketing is the best it can be while using our data responsibly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the relationship with external partners to implement privacy-safe solutions and capabilities.

  • Working with our internal privacy and legal teams to onboard new partners, review new uses of 1st and 3rd party data, and troubleshoot ongoing concerns.

  • Partnering with our digital media team to understand their priorities to activate campaigns and improve our personalization efforts.

  • Stay on top of global privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and ensure digital marketing activities comply with applicable laws and industry standards.

  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for new marketing initiatives, platforms, and technologies to identify and mitigate privacy risks.

  • Develop and deliver privacy training for the digital media teams to promote a culture of privacy awareness and compliance.

  • Monitor and audience processes to regularly assess compliance with privacy policies and identify areas of improvement.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing privacy procedures in digital marketing.

  • Strong understanding of global and national privacy regulations and related frameworks.

  • Familiarity with digital advertising technologies and platforms.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams at all levels to integrate privacy considerations into marketing strategies and initiatives.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree in marketing, business, law, or a related major.

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) or similar certification

  • Experience working with technical engineers to effectively communicate the technical challenges and fulfill the business needs.

  • Experience working with lawyers and privacy professionals to effectively communicate the marketing challenges, while translating privacy requirements.

  • Ability to work with business partners and experience with relationship management.

  • Domain expertise in consumer privacy, the telecommunications industry, and the ethical use of data.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $115,000.00 and $213,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
