The Role:
As the Global Controller, you’ll be responsible for the company’s external financial reporting, global accounting operations, internal controls/SOX, procurement and group tax functions.
The Global Controller, will be a strategic leader and a critical member of the CFO Leadership team. He/She will lead, motivate,e and manage an organization of 50+ people and will actively partner with the other key members of the CFO leadership team (VP FP&A, VP Go-To-Market Finance, VP Treasurer, VP Investor Relations and SVP Revenue Operations) We seek a high-potential, hands-on, pragmatic accounting and finance professional with a demonstrated record of driving change to build best-in-class Controllership organizations in a public company environment and strong management and leadership skills.
The work you’ll do:
Take accountability for the timely and accurate preparation of the company’s financial statements and for meeting all financial and tax reporting obligations globally.
Lead and manage all accounting functions, including corporate technical accounting, consolidation, global accounting operations, and finance shared services.
Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of the company’s internal control framework
Lead and manage the procurement and group tax functions.
Supervise the financial shared services operation.
Oversee and manage the global accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and local accounting standards.
Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including account/variance analysis and reconciliation, ensuring high-quality financial statements.
Identify and implement process improvements across accounting functions, focusing on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline financial processes, reduce manual work, and enhance financial reporting accuracy and timeliness.
Participate in regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance across various jurisdictions, both US and foreign tax filings.
Partner with the FP&A team on the annual budget, monthly forecast, various expense analytics, and other internal reporting activities
Participate in the drafting and review of technical accounting positions and policy memos as necessary.
Help to coordinate annual financial statement audits with external auditors, both domestic and international.
Participate in the development and maintenance of internal control documentation.
Own resolution of accounting questions/issues, including adoption of new accounting standards as necessary
Lead, retain, and develop a high-performing accounting team and support their growth and professional development.
The qualifications you need:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant credentials required
10+ years of overall experience, previous experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area as a senior member of the accounting team
Expert-level experience with Workdaytechnical accounting skills, including the ability to independently analyze transactions and contracts and document the related accounting analysis under GAAP
Strong leadership, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to work across many departments
Proven ability to manage, develop, and lead remote/distributed teams across different time zones
Experience working with an accounting organization of similar size
Experience in a SaaS business
The base salary range below is for the role in the specified location, based on a Full Time Schedule.
Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off). Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and that the actual total compensation offer will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, applicant's qualifications, skills, experiences, and location.
The base salary range below is for the role in New York, based on a Full Time Schedule.
$195,000—$275,000 USD
