JOB DESCRIPTION

Inventory Clerk-Materials Management Purchasing-Mount Sinai Chelsea-Full Time, 9am to 5pm

To receive and distribute pharmaceuticals and supplies to internal & external customers. To maintain established inventory controls, records, and security procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives, stores, and issues supply orders per established policies and procedures of Pharmacy & Medical Center

  • Enters all purchase receipts into department computerized inventory control system.

  • Accurately fills service/stock orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity of items indicated on pick ticket according to fill schedule.

  • Distributes requisitioned supplies to all areas of Pharmacy, other departments, and external customers in a timely manner.

  • Maintains all stock areas in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.

  • Rotates stock according to expiration dates and secondary locations.

  • Routinely checks for and removes expired medications from inventory.

  • Checks and records temperature of refrigerators and freezers in storeroom.

  • Coordinates deliveries and shipments with Receiving Dock and internal & external couriers.

  • Maintains integrity of storeroom and limits access to authorized personnel only.

  • Submits monthly workload statistics as assigned.

  • Maintains files, as assigned, and keeps work station neat and orderly.

  • Completes weekly ESI cycle counts to assure accurate perpetual inventory counts. Makes inventory adjustments per procedure.

  • Coordinates KOWs as instructed by pharmacists.

  • Alerts Storeroom Manger of acute stock shortages.

  • Sorts and packs drug returns for off-site return goods vendor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
