How You’ll Succeed

  • Drive the growth of CIBC’s U.S. Equity Capital Markets platform

  • Originate and execute equity and equity-linked financings for companies across a variety of sectors, including initial public offerings, follow-on equity issues, convertible offerings, preferred shares and private placements

  • Maintain deep client relationships and act as the primary ECM client point of contact

  • Partner closely with our leading Canadian ECM team, based in Toronto, to serve our Canadian corporate clients accessing U.S. markets

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate & Investment Banking and Global Markets to deliver comprehensive capital and advisory solutions

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of capital markets or investment banking experience including 5+ years of U.S. ECM experience

  • Track record of building and fostering trusted corporate client relationships, including demonstrated success both in new business development and deal execution

  • Deep ECM process and product expertise, including active bookrunning IPOs, convertible securities, SPACs / de-SPACs and ATMs

  • Achievement-oriented and entrepreneurial, while possessing a team player approach consistent with CIBCs purpose-driven culture

  • An extremely high level of energy, sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness coupled with the ability to work well under pressure

  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character, demonstrating high moral and ethical behavior

  • Superb presentation skills, both oral and written

  • Bachelor’s Degree in or above

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $400,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
