Respiratory Therapy Coordinator

Respiratory Care

Full-Time

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Chief of Cardiopulmonary and Respiratory Care to support the mission and goals of HSS and provides all aspects of Respiratory Therapy to patients

  • Support both respiratory/cardiopulmonary departments

  • Active Respiratory Therapist license and able to perform the job duties of a respiratory therapist, including EKGs and Pulmonary function testing, if needed

  • Provides education to respiratory/cardiopulmonary staff and other departments as needed, including APPs and nursing

  • Teaches formal/informal classes within the organization including, but not limited to the following topics: Ventilator management, bipap/cpap, oxygen therapy, airway clearance techniques

  • Provide orientation and training (RT and RN)

  • Update and perform annual competencies for all staff

  • Recommend/update new policies and procedures

  • Communicate with EMR Epic analysts on issues with build/Test build changes/Update staff on changes

  • Assist in compiling weekly & monthly statistical reports

  • Coordinate yearly vendor in-services with staff on all the different respiratory equipment

  • Monthly or quarterly Case Study report analysis reviews with staff to address areas of improvement (quality improvement activity)

  • Manage lung simulator for mock codes/ clinical simulation reviews with RTs and non-RT staff

  • Assist with coordinating events and workshops for respiratory care week

  • Documentation audits

  • Disinfection audits

  • Primary payroll timekeeper

  • Backup administrator and management of operations when Chief is out

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with NY License

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 5 years of critical care experience as RRT

  • BLS Certification

    Preferred:

  • At least 1 specialty certification

  • PFT experience

  • EKG experience

  • At least 2 years teaching experience

  • ACLS/PALS certification

    Shift:

    4 days/wk with total of 37.5 weekly hours (variable days/hours)

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $110,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $115,000.00/Yr.
