What's the role?

As the Enterprise & Index Data Governance Data Product Owner, you will use your market knowledge and experience to deliver a data strategy and roadmap for the future use of ESG data for Enterprise and Index data offering. You will use this roadmap to continuously deliver and revise as needed with evolving market and client needs, to deliver the maximum business value. You will partner with a wide variety of Product, Data, and Engineering teams and engage with clients to understand needs and create a comprehensive vision for our data. You will define the data strategy and roadmap, identify relevant content for Index and Enterprise use-cases, analyze gaps and opportunities, profile datasets, and translate business needs into requirements.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Build partnerships with internal partners to understand and document business and client needs across Terminal and Enterprise Product, Data, Bloomberg Index Service, and Engineering

  • Develop and drive a strategic vision for Bloomberg’s Data offering, acting as a thought and domain leader in finding opportunities to expand depth and breadth of coverage for enabling Enterprise and Index use-cases

  • Communicate strategic vision and progress back to partners to ensure continued collaboration to provide client value

  • Coordinate across teams and ensure we have a fit-for-purpose data architecture, including 4 key pillars in mind : 1)Data Model 2) Delivery 3) Quality 4) Governance

  • Set requirements to ensure data governance standard methodologies, quality and standardization across teams, datasets and sources

  • Find opportunities to ensure clear governance with transparency for all data being used by Enterprise Data and Indices, and help prepare consultations and notices for any changes during the ongoing reviews

  • Continuously deliver incremental value, while adjusting the roadmap as needed, through an Agile approach

  • Continuously monitor and assess the efficacy of QC processes, making improvements as necessary to support the Enterprise & Index Use cases

  • Work closely with the ESG Data Quality team to implement rigorous quality control & governance measures to maintain the integrity of reported ESG data and methodologies

  • Stay informed about emerging regulations and standards in the ESG space and ensure compliance of our data to those standards

  • Actively engage in client interactions, supporting RFP processes, and assisting in client pitches

  • Understand client needs and tailor presentations and proposals regarding our data to meet these requirements

You’ll need to have:

  • 4+ years’ experience working with large, complex data models

  • Deep domain expertise of the ESG landscape and familiarity with a diversity of use cases, including sustainable indexes, risk modeling, portfolio alignment, regulatory compliance, and other ways financial market players could use ESG-relevant datasets

  • Mastery in analyzing and organizing data, considering how clients need to interact with our data, as well as enterprise-wide product needs and engineering objectives

  • Technical proficiency in being comfortable discussing technical concepts and experience evaluating trade-offs in design with Engineering

  • Experience with communicating and coordinating with internal/external groups to define project scope and meet project deliverables across the implementation process

  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional relationship building skills – both written and verbal

  • Customer-focused mentality and ability to interact with a diverse range of client types

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, as well as make complex concepts simpler for wider audiences

We’d love to see:

  • Extensive product manager experience, bringing sophisticated products to market

  • Proficiency in Python or SQL

  • Familiarity with statistics

  • Exposure to Bloomberg products such as the Professional Service

  • Experience using a Scrum Agile process

Salary Range: 110,000 - 170,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
