Position Summary
The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time Senior Technician to join the Laboratory for Mucosal Immunology in New York City. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov, the Senior Technician/Lab Manager will be responsible for lab management and management of a laboratory mouse colony, including gnotobiotic isocages, and will perform experiments in the field of microbiota and mucosal immunology.

- Lab management and organization, including inventory and ordering of lab supplies and reagents, management of storage and equipment, and maintenance of lab records.
- Maintenance and organization of the laboratory animal colony, including gnotobiotic isocages.
- Animal sample collection, genotyping.
- Assist lab members in performing experiments.
- Generate and maintain detailed records of activities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Experience with lab organization.
- Significant research experience with laboratory mice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with gnotobiotic mice.
Other Requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain detailed laboratory records.
