Job Description
Our entertainment client is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join the Growth Life Engineering team. The Growth Lifecycle engineering group is responsible developing the backend microservices that support the offers and pricings services of their streaming platforms. They orchestrate the customer flow and integrate with various other backend services during signups for their multiple streaming services. This team owns and supports many tier-1 services that need to be highly available in all regions. This is a fast-paced and fast-growing team and, as a Sr. Software Engineer, this person will have influence over the technical direction and architecture for the services and tools built by the team. This individual will also have the opportunity to learn about the international landscape and challenges in the area of billing, payments, subscriptions, offers, and promotions as their streaming services launch around the world over the next few years.
This team is responsible for developing and operating the clients direct-to-consumer video businesses globally. Their core mission is to deliver global audiences the freedom to access content on their terms across any connected device, time, or location. They serve consumers by bringing the worlds most beloved characters, timeless stories, legendary athletes, and epic sporting events to global audiences through outstanding direct-to-consumer video services.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implement tier-1 microservices in Java and/or Scala.
Implement asynchronous processes to run in the cloud for various data transformation
operations.
Work on tech design for various initiatives and projects as per business needs.
Be involved in code reviews and architecture reviews for team members.
Participate in Agile methodology and SCRUM processes such as Sprint Planning,
Backlog grooming, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives with the team.
Provide on-call support for critical services on a rotational basis.
Own features/functionality and deliver projects end-to-end with high quality and robust
architecture.
Communicate and work with multi-functional business partners.
Ramp up on new domains and technologies.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience using Java in an AWS environment
o Develop and maintain microservices architecutre using SpringBoot
o Utilize GraphQL for efficient data querying and manipulation.
Ability to automate build and deployment processes with Jenkins.
o Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Experience implementing and managing cloud-based solutions on AWS
Familiarity with databases (SQL and no-SQL)
Experience with Agile methodology and SCRUM processes (sprint planning) Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or comparable field of study null
