Fluent Staff Accountant (Accounts Payable) in New York, New York
Fluent is looking for talented Staff Accountant to join our accounts payable team as we continue to scale our business. You will be reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable will support the accounting team in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions within a public company environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn, with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous process improvement. This role provides valuable exposure to general ledger accounting, transaction processing, and cross-functional collaboration, making it an excellent opportunity to develop a well-rounded foundation in accounting
Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepares monthly general ledger journal entries
Ensure accurate accruals and reconciliation of expenses
Maintain detailed and well-supported reconciliations of all assigned balance sheet accounts
Assists with weekly payment run process
Assists with employee reimbursement processing
Review monthly account variances versus prior reporting periods
Assist in internal and external audit requests, as required
Special projects as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
1+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
Relevant experience with the financial close process
Proficient in Excel
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the company
Experience with NetSuite is a plus

Salary Range: $61,000 to $65,000 - The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Fluent salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
