NBCUniversal is launching a ground-breaking new interactive gaming experience and is seeking key talent for leadership roles. As the AI/ML Principal Engineer you will be driving the design, development, and implementation of our gaming projects. You will collaborate closely with other departments, including design, art, and production, to ensure our games meet high standards of quality and performance.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Oversee the entire game development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
Establish coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the development process.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
PhD and postdoctoral experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with a strong focus on research and advanced problem-solving in technical domains.
10+ years of experience in game development
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Java.
Strong understanding of game development
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong experience in leading a research agenda, defining research goals, driving innovation, and overseeing the development and deployment of advanced AI/ML models and solutions.
Demonstrated expertise in working with geospatial data and technologies, including the application of AI/ML models to analyze, interpret, and derive insights from spatial datasets.
Desired Characteristics:
Strong understanding of game design principles and mechanics.
Experience in Unreal Engine.
Previous experience working in AI/ML
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
Organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate and guide a diverse team
An intuition and enthusiasm for launching groundbreaking, deep tech products.
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented and collaborative approach with a demonstrated aptitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn new methods, tools, practices and skills.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
