Leading sawmill client is seeking a Weekend Millwright/Maintenance Supervisor for their growing team. Seeking a skilled Millwright Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the facility. The Supervisor will lead and inspire a team of millwrights and electricians to maintain and repair equipment efficiently. Collaborate with other departments to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime, ensuring uninterrupted production. Bring your expertise to drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and procedures. Responsibilities
Achieving Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety
Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met
Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop, and educate key metrics
Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes
Effectively communicating goals and instructions
Managing conflicts
Supervising Weekend Maintenance and Cleanup personnel
Maintenance of sawmill equipment (includes/not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems)
Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, Field Level Hazard & Risk Assessments (FLHRA), Safety Audits)
Training/mentoring apprentices
Creating and planning improvement projects
Scheduling and attendance
Inspecting completed work
Safety/environmental compliance
Maintenance/departmental cost
Employee training and development
Maintenance & appearance of production plant equipment
Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright
Minimum of five years of industrial experience
The essential functions of this role include:
working in a smoke free environment
wearing steel toe shoes
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
manual lifting up to 50lbs
standing for 8 hours at one time
working weekends
