Job Title: Concrete Finisher
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher for Heavy Highway – Roadway projects in the Tidewater region of Virginia (Chesapeake/Newport News/Norfolk). The role involves smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete such as bridge decks, parapets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters to specified textures. Essential duties include positioning trucks for concrete pouring, spreading concrete into inaccessible sections of forms, leveling concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, finishing concrete surfaces, and repairing old concrete surfaces. The successful candidate will have commercial experience, specifically in barrier walls, curbs, gutters, and working with wet vs dry pavement.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Newport News, Virginia.
Work Environment
The work environment involves travel to our shop in Newport News and then commuting in company vehicles to various commercial and roadway work sites. The role is physically demanding, requiring regular standing, use of hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking. The employee frequently is required to walk and occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
