Stark State College Respiratory Care Clinical Instructional Assistant in North Canton, Ohio

The Clinical Instructional Assistant for the Respiratory Care Program is a position that requires a highly trained and credentialed Respiratory Therapist. This position is in direct support of the college's mission and strategic plan. The Clinical Instructional Assistant duties support the Clinical Coordinator in the clinical setting. The support may vary depending on setting and include duties such as: 1) Provide instruction and remediation to students in the clinical practice setting in support of program faculty and program curriculum; 2) Perform competency/practical testing in the clinical setting; 3) Assist faculty in simulation competencies and/or demonstrations; 4) Assure that each student is meeting clinical objectives as outlined in syllabus; 5) Collect and maintain clinical data related to program and accreditation requirements; 6) Evaluate students' performance in the clinical setting. Requires a minimum of an Associate degree in Respiratory Care. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, Education, Management, or health related field preferred. Must have a minimum of three years' working experience in respiratory care, including two years of critical care experience. Prefer prior experience in clinical or classroom instruction. Must hold current registered respiratory therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Must have current license in the state of Ohio to practice respiratory care. Must hold current certificates in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are also recommended. This position requires the candidate be currently working at the facility that has the clinical instructor vacancy. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have current knowledge of the respiratory care discipline. Must be able to effectively communicate with diverse student populations. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have critical thinking and decision-making skills.
