Job Title: QC Lab TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a QC Lab Technician to join our team. This role involves supporting production by testing all incoming material, processes, and outgoing products, as well as conducting environmental testing. The position is scheduled for Monday to Friday, noon to 8pm. You will work in a dairy company that produces a variety of products including white milk, chocolate milk, ice cream, eggnog, and sour cream.
Responsibilities
Perform bacterial plating
Conduct microbiology testing
Carry out pH testing
Use an infrared reader for butter fat and total solids analysis
Perform titratable acidity tests
Calibrate machines
Conduct weight checks
Essential Skills
Experience in wet chemistry
Knowledge of biology
Understanding of food quality control
Familiarity with GMP
Proficiency in aseptic techniques
Experience in plating and microbiology
Experience working in a lab environment
Additional Skills & Qualifications
B.A. or Associate's degree with labs in Biology or a related field is desired
H.S. diploma with industry experience in a lab will be considered
Aseptic technique experience is desired but not required
Ability to learn quickly
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask
Restaurant industry experience is a plus
Must not be lactose intolerant as tasting products is required
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, noon to 8pm. Flexibility is required initially for the first month and a half, during which you must be open to all shifts. After this period, you will be on the first shift. You will work in a lab environment, interacting with plant employees and utilizing various testing equipment. The role offers a collaborative team atmosphere, with opportunities to learn microbiology, basic chemistry, and machine calibration.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
