Associate Software Tester (Hybrid)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking an Associate Software Tester in O’Fallon, IL . In this position you will be supporting the Mobility Enterprise Information Services (MEIS) which provides net-centric services as an enabler for new, modernized and current Mobility Air Force (MAF) command and control applications and capabilities supporting the U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command global mission. The Mobility Enterprise Information Services framework is a structure providing reusable common platform and information technology services, software products and components, and design patterns allowing for deployment into a common shared environment. As a sub-enterprise focused on the MAF beneath USTRANSCOM, this framework is an integral part of USTRANSCOM's overall service-oriented architecture strategy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports development of test debrief material. Participates in evaluation of test performance data. Collects the data and provides recommendation to break/alter configuration. Performs special test procedures as required to support failure investigation.

  • Prepares for next test activities or events based on results. Conducts reallocation, disposition or refurbishment of test assets. Develops simple test procedures, and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan. Performs test and collects data, following established test procedures. Identifies anomalies and suggests solutions to more experienced personnel. Makes suggestions on emerging conditions. Generates simple test plans or aspects of more complex plans. Interfaces with internal contacts, decomposes information from requirements and Statements of Work to formulate basic test approaches.

  • Reviews standards and regulations to assess the impact on the test plan. Gathers information from applicable sources to define test requirements, facilities and test environments for simple tests. Assists in identifying test requirements for complex tests. Assists in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods. Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.

  • Alerts senior personnel of off-nominal data. Prepares test configuration and configuration documentation. Coordinates the staging of test hardware. Participates in test readiness reviews, safety reviews, test plan reviews and test case reviews.

  • Configures software for data acquisition and analysis. Prepares daily execution plans for effective use of all test resources. Provides input to lessons learned and performance metrics to improve future testing. Archives data and reports as required.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with software test design, test methodologies and test techniques

  • Written and verbal communication skills to successfully share their testing results and make recommendations.

  • Ability to handle fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong technical abilities and comfort working with various software programs.

  • Knowledge of various programming languages, depending on the project.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualification, as well as market and business considerations. Summary base pay range $61,000 - $74,500
