Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Bomber Sustainment Chief Engineer (CE) . This is a highly visible, and challenging, assignment with direct interactions with Boeing Senior Leaders and the United States Air Force (USAF) customers from Oklahoma City, OK . The position will be responsible for the overall product and service safety, technical integrity, and technical excellence of the B1, B2, B52H, and ALCM/CALCM programs within the MS&B portfolio and will report directly to the MS&B Chief Engineer.

The selected candidate must be able to work in a diverse work environment and lead cross-functional teams. This position requires close collaboration with the Program Director, and interfaces with program managers, engineering capability leaders, supplier chain, operations, contracts, and finance. The candidate must also have a strong technical background, business acumen, and be able to work at senior levels of the business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Experience and a proven track record of building and growing a team's technical expertise and depth is also required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for product and service safety, integrity and technical excellence for all Bomber Sustainment aircraft and products.

  • Serve as the Bomber Sustainment Sr. Technical Leader and provide technical oversight across the Bomber Sustainment portfolio.

  • Technical focal for Bomber Sustainment at MS&B engineering leadership meetings, workforce and capability development meetings, technical councils, and safety review boards.

  • Chair Bomber Sustainment Chief Engineer Council (CEC), Safety Review Boards, Engineering Configuration Change Boards, Technical RIO Boards, Gate Reviews, and Mission Assurance Reviews.

  • Lead program-level technical issue resolution, including root cause and corrective actions (RCCAs).

  • Management over-sight and coordination of Engineering efforts across BDS, BGS, BT&E, BR&T, and the Software organizations.

  • Technical oversight of Bomber Sustainment IRAD and IAD projects.

  • Using engineering metrics to report and drive first time quality, on-time release, throughput of engineering deliverables, and monitor/validate process improvements.

  • Lead team of senior engineer direct reports, SEIT leaders, and integration/project engineers reporting directly to the Bomber Sustainment Chief Engineer.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Experience working with Bomber and/or Commercial Derivative aircraft platforms or experience working with Boeing Commercial Aircraft.

  • 10+ years of experience working with various engineering disciplines such as structure, electrical, mechanical, and avionics systems.

  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in a managerial role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in a managerial role.

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally (engineering, program management, modification team, and/or finance) and across multiple business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.).

  • Experience interfacing directly with senior military leaders and executives.
