Catholic Health Initiatives Medication Assistant Program Coord in Omaha, Nebraska

Overview

This is a part time position, 20 hours per week, weekdays.

The Patient Medication Assistance Program (PMAP) Coordinator is responsible for leadership, oversight, and coordination of medication assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Researches assistance program availability and patient requirements to optimize patient access to programs such as Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs (PAP), bulk replacement programs, assistance grants, etc.

  • Works closely with physicians, case managers, billing office personnel, business personnel, nurse practitioners, clinic personnel, pharmacy etc. to coordinate patient care.

  • Responsible for policy and procedure development, education of caregivers, and compliance oversight related to patient assistance programs.

  • Utilizes a patient tracking database to track patient assistance applications, approvals, receipt of medication, dispensing, billing, and compliance.

  • Oversees the patient assistance process and maintains records of program assistance, compiles and submits financial reports.

  • Coordinates implementation of new programs, including submission of required applications, development of policy and procedures, and affiliation agreements/contracts.

  • Serves as a consultant to other facilities to implement patient assistance programs.

  • Educates patient assistance case managers, social workers, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, medical office staff, and business office staff of available programs, and provides feedback regarding compliance with referrals, formulary, and documentation.

Qualifications

State pharmacy technician registration and pharmacy technician certification are preferred , but not required.

Pay Range

$17.89 - $24.60 /hour
