Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Maintenance Engineer for the new Golden Triangle Polymers facility, a greenfield project, in Orange, Texas that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP.

The Maintenance Engineer position will require direct coordination with Operations, Maintenance and Reliability to improve plant safety, minimize environmental impacts, meet economic justifications, and improve overall reliability.

During the project phase, the Maintenance Engineer will be heavily involved in developing and championing tasks from the Maintenance Operational Readiness Plan. Following startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations. #HPCP

Responsibilities

  • Resolve incident investigation actions associated with maintenance.

  • Develop maintenance processes and procedures.

  • Oversee assigned projects.

  • Develop Maintenance KPIs in Power BI

  • Work closely with the Planners/Scheduler to gain knowledge of the planning and scheduling process and responsibilities.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Maintenance and Operations Fill in as Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

  • Follow off-site repairs of critical plant equipment.

  • Provide input to capital improvement projects to ensure maintenance considerations are met. Champion the standard maintenance procedure program

  • Design and execute minor expense projects utilizing plant processes. Support unit MOC's, PSSR's, LOPA's.

  • Participate and provide leadership during unit turnarounds or shutdowns.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Basic understanding of rotating and fixed equipment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize work to align with defined goals

  • Understanding of safety issues in a hazardous environment

  • Ability to establish respectful relationships with team members at all levels

  • Ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as maintenance or reliability engineer

  • Experience in the construction of large capital projects

  • Working knowledge of SAP, specifically the PM Module

  • Experience with APM/Meridium
