Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Orinda, California

Description

Robert Half is assisting a top client to find a passionate, hardworking Attorney to join their dynamic law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. The incumbent will be entrusted with handling a wide range of cases autonomously, while often collaborating with a team of committed attorneys.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a full caseload from inception through resolution.

  • Conducting case investigations, including interviewing clients, witnesses and other involved parties.

  • Identifying the specific laws and regulations applicable to different cases.

  • Drafting legal documents – including correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and motions.

  • Presenting legal arguments and evidence in court proceedings.

  • Negotiating settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.

  • Regularly updating clients on case progress and advising them on suitable legal actions.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of personal injury law and legal trends.

  • Ensuring all legal transactions strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the California State Bar Association.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership of the California State Bar.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation attorney, preferably within the personal injury practice area.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in legal research methods and technologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of the procedures, laws, and regulations related to cases in California.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organization and multitasking skills.

  • Demonstrable empathy, with an ability to create strong relationships with clients, often during difficult times in their lives.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently yet function collaboratively as part of a team.
