Siemens AS is looking for a Nordic Commodity Manager with responsibility for indirect procurement and supply chain management in Norway. You will join a global matrix organisation, where you will be part of the Nordic SCM team, representing regional Supply Chain Management in the countries and working with support from global commodity pooling teams at Siemens AG Headquarter.

You will join a team of experienced colleagues located across the Nordic countries, who have recently embarked on an exciting journey of harmonising standards, processes, and commodity strategies, taking supply chain management to the next level across the Nordics. You will work closely together with 10 colleagues, who drive functional excellence, commodity management and local buying across multiple business units.

What is your role?

  • Prepare and conduct negotiations with suppliers to obtain highest feasible savings in accordance with budget expectations

  • Development/maintain indirect preferred supplier/product portfolio and associated e-catalogues

  • Manage local buying and ad-hoc demand

  • Ensure local Supply Chain Management standards, regulations and guidelines along with a compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process across the business

  • Drive own commodities and related projects across the Nordics

  • Manage, improve and contribute to overarching SCM programmes and initiatives

  • Support the implementation of global/regional initiatives in the fields of digitalization and sustainability

  • Establish close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

We think y ou are a good business partner and get along with different people. You find solutions to different challenges and situations. You are experienced in contract management, planning and strategy. Your communication skills are excellent. Fluent English and Norwegian is a prerequisite.

Your skills and competences include:

  • Analytical and strong negotiator with proven experience of developing strategic relationships

  • Good commercial, financial and contractual awareness

  • Proficiency in problem-solving to identify and resolve potential threats to supply

  • Possess great interpersonal skills - experience of working within a complex / matrix organisation

  • Ability to communicate effectively to peers and across the organisation

  • Strong sense of ownership when working independently as well as within team

  • Strategic Sourcing and Project Management experience

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in parallel

  • Ability to motivate and contribute to a positive working environment

Your desired qualifications:

  • Procurement background – 8-10 years of Procurement / Supply Chain experience

  • Bachelor / master’s degree in purchasing / logistics economics or equivalent

  • Understanding of MS 365 Applications and financial tools
