Position Summary

Digital & Data Science is one of the critical capability levers within our J&J Supply Chain’s Strategy, Innovation & Deployment (SI&D) innovation engine that is essential to building the world’s best supply chain. The Data Operations team sits within the MedTech Supply Chain Digital & Business Transformation (DBT) organization. Our role is to deliver trusted data to enable the launch & supply of products to our customers. Our key accountabilities include: delivering and maintaining a data operating model that optimizes data quality, timeliness, and effort; applying end-to-end data knowledge and unique insights to drive innovative customer solutions; building scalable partnerships with suppliers to be adaptable to changing needs and demands; utilizing technology to drive innovative data operations solutions; and developing our talent as a distinctive capability.

This position will monitor and execute day-to-day operations to support the strategy of the Data Operations function across franchises/business units. Will lead mid-sized projects. Will use creativity and innovation to develop solutions to complex problems, ensuring solutions are consistent with organizational objectives.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee RAD daily operations and escalations of data operations functions. Ensure SLAs exist and monitor response time. Manage and control data quality by driving escalations and discussions with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements. Review and approve quality actions including Non-Conformance (NC) and/or Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).

  • Engage with business partners by providing appropriate guidance on data operations. Work with IT partners to resolve production issues. Support New Product launches and business initiatives.

  • Function as Subject Matter Expert/Data Governance Lead for workstream or functional area. Provide appropriate guidance on Data Operations specifically RAD and Variant Management. May include completion of complex change assessments and/or project scoping requirements, point of escalation for both internal and external team members, single point of contact for strategic launches and audit/compliance activities, participate in and sometimes lead operational meetings with data owners.

  • Continuous improvement of existing RAD functionality, Variant Management and internal day-to-day Team Processes. May also include engaging with stakeholders on tactical matters.

  • Own documentation for area of responsibility. May include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), protocols, data quality catalogs, and other policy and procedure documents. Develop and deliver training to educate stakeholders on documented procedures, data flows, etc.

  • Prepare metrics, dashboards, and tracking to facilitate the efficient operations of the Data Operations department. Participate in, and sometimes lead, operational and governance meetings including end-to-end, value capture, and third-party reviews.

  • Lead, develop, and retain talent through development, coaching, and engagement. Provide guidance, direction, development planning, and performance feedback in accordance with J&J Career Management processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of data management experience in the context of large ERP platforms.

  • A relevant mix of global, regional, cross-sector/industry experience.

  • Business and technical knowledge and understanding of all Supply Chain data elements, process, and organizational support models.

  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, influence multiple stakeholders, and establish common goals and objectives without sacrificing outcomes.

  • Ability to embed a culture of harmonization, process improvement, and value creation across business segments.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work in a matrix environment where priorities change rapidly, and tight deadlines exist.

  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to lead and influence teams.
