Job Title PRODUCTION FORKLIFT | 6A - 6P | 4 ON 4 OFF SCHEDULE | $21.73 HR Plant/Location Owatonna, MN 55060 US (Primary) Job Type Hourly Category Manufacturing and Production Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager) Education No high school diploma Job Accountabilities Position Overview: Ensure that quality packaging materials are supplied to palletizing operations and transport finished quality pallets to appropriate area of the warehouse. Duties And Responsibilities: Keep palletizer magazines full of pallets, top frames, and slip sheets and ensure the quality of all materials. Keep pallets aligned properly and remove jams as needed. Make sure pallet inventory is properly sorted, with defective pallets stored in separate area. Check conditions of forklift and perform basic P.M.'s at start of each shift. Ensure strappers are full of banding material and pallets are flowing smoothly through lower conveying. Perform band tension check once per shift and document results on check sheet. Inspect and transport finished pallets to warehouse, referring any H.F.I.s for proper disposition. Replace missing cans on pallets and missing bands before transporting them to the warehouse. Maintain good housekeeping in lower conveying area. Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant. Scan all production to proper bay and ensure P.O. numbers are not mixed. Complete the required daily cleaning task and sign off sheet. Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements Minimum 6 months of forklift operation with at least 75% of the workday operating the forklift. Able to read and understand date codes and pallet tickets, know how to operate computer to generate pallet tickets and the procedures for application. Know and understand overall can quality requirements and be capable for identifying defects. Basic data entry skills Ability to safely operate all forklifts in plant. Know how to fill tanks and do basic inspections of fork truck at shift start up. Knowledge of can sizes, lacquer finishes and pack sizes. Understand material specifications, quality packaging requirements and H.F.I. procedures. Basic understanding of can manufacturing process and quality can specifications. Working knowledge of palletizing system and lower conveying. Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions. Will put all pallets away in warehouse, without backing the line up. Ability to clear basic strapper jams when needed. Travel 0 - 10% Crown is an equal opportunity employer.
