University of Mississippi Instructor of Geology & Geological Engineering in Oxford, Mississippi

This Position is for an Instructor of Geology and Geological Engineering with a public university work location in University, MS.

Position Description

The Department of Geology & Geological Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month Instructional Faculty position (non-tenure track) to begin in August 2024. Teaching responsibilities will include geology courses for non-majors; courses supporting undergraduate degrees in geology and geological engineering; overseeing or assisting with instructional laboratories; and participation in instruction of summer field camps (field camps are outside of the nine-month contract and qualify for additional compensation). The candidate is also expected to contribute to departmental service.

Applicants must hold a Master's degree or higher in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. The ability to teach lower level engineering classes and/or experience with online teaching will be considered an advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master of Science degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or closely related field, and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching in the geosciences.
