Siemens Energy CNC Machinist/General Machinist - 2ND SHIFT (LB) in Painted Post, New York

This position as a CNC Machinist/General Machinist (2nd shift) works with machine engineered design products with high dollar parts. We use CNC turning and milling machines that are required to hold tight tolerances. Blueprint reading is a must.

As part of the shop floor team, you'll be responsible for the machining, fit-up, assembly, and quality of a wide variety of parts for compressors and associated components. If you are a hard working, motivated, detail oriented and willing to learn individual this team is right for you!

How You’llMake an Impact

  • Plan, layout and perform all machineoperations on both conventional and N/C machines to construct, alter,repair and finish a variety of parts. Maintain close tolerances.

  • Produce parts from past prints,samples, sketches or drawings and check work, using standard and/orspecial gauging devices to assure conformity and to maintain qualitystandards.

  • Deburr, file, grind, chip, and fitparts made from cast iron, cast steel, malleable iron, nodular iron, sheetand bar steel. Remove burrs, fins and sharp edges using belt sanders,electric bench grinders, air operator rotary files, and hand files.

  • Set tools and make all adjustmentsrequired on tooling, both standard and present, changing presetting whennecessary.

  • Operate material handling equipment,such as, but not restricted to, hand truck, fork or lift truck, crane,hoist, etc. for incidental delivery or receiving or material to or fromadjoining areas of the shop.

  • Diagnose and remedy trouble. Ensurecoolant logs are maintained. Keep machines clean and lubricated, followingperiodic check list for preventive maintenance and aid in machine repair.Work areas are to be kept neat, clean, safe and orderly.

  • It is expected that employees willdemonstrate their capability and willingness to learn.

What YouBring

  • Must have a High School Diploma orGED is required

  • A minimum of 1-3 years machiningexperience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Must be willing to work 2nd shiftand be flexible enough to work 1st or 3rd shift on occasion as businessrequires.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to readand interpret blueprints.

  • Have a general knowledge and understandingof machining and CNC programming methods.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft OfficeSuite, with basic to intermediate computer skills.

  • Displays a demeanor conducive toprogress through positive change, continuous improvement and activecontributor to the teamwork concept.

  • Applicants must be legallyauthorized for employment in the United States without need for current orfuture employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employeeswith current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
