Job Description:

Support structure-function studies of cytoskeletal proteins that control signaling downstream of adherens junctions and focal adhesions with implications in cancer and heart diseases.

Structure-function studies of novel Mycobacterium tuberculosis targets in collaboration with Professor Luiz Carvalho.

Support ongoing research in cell biology, molecular biology, protein expression, purification, biochemistry, and cryogenic electron microscopy, and protein crystallography.

Organize and keeps laboratory area clean.

Attend regular laboratory meetings.

This position requires a high level of focus and attention to detail, especially during the setup and analysis of experiments. Candidates must be physically capable of moving around the lab, opening doors, carrying items, squatting, reaching over their heads, operating lab machinery and pipettes and handling delicate items with both hands. The RT will receive appropriate training by institute and members of the lab on how to work in these settings.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with experience in either protein biochemistry or cryogenic electron microscopy are preferred.
