New Venture Research Corporation (NVRC) is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions supporting critical defense programs.
We are currently seeking a Network Administrator/Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City Beach, FL.
Tasks and Duties
This Network Engineer/Network Administrator position provides critical support to military and contractor personnel using expeditionary and fixed networks and systems. The role involves maintaining and enhancing network infrastructure to support mission-critical operations, requiring a qualified candidate capable of troubleshooting, configuring, and administering network devices and systems. This position includes occasional on-site support at military bases both CONUS and OCONUS.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, VoIP telephones, VTC, and INE devices
Configure, patch and apply DISA STIG to all Layer 2 and Layer 3 network services
Ensure all tactical enclave domains perform at maximum capability
Manage network resources to avoid outages and downtime, including backups
Serve as SME for deployment of tactical enclaves for exercises or contingency environments
Perform full-time operational deployment, setup and pack-up, system operation and maintenance
Create and manage Request for Maintenance Assistance (RMA)
Required Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency with security configuration and security maintenance of physical and virtual network devices
Demonstrated experience with configuration and troubleshooting of switching, Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, VRF, SSR)
Experience with IP Telephony (RTP, DTMF) and Cisco Call Manager (CUCM)
Minimum CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or JNCIA (Juniper Networks Certified Associate) certification
Security+ certification (Required for IAT Level II positions)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced industry certifications such as: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Enterprise, JNCIS (Juniper Network Certified Specialist), VCP-NV (VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization), and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Expert level experience in DoD networking and architectures in tactical environments
Required Education and Length of Experience
Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience OR Master's degree with 0 years' experience OR 4 years' relevant experience and industry certification(s)
Travel Requirements
Travel up to 25% will be required.
U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain up to TS/SCI, if required by the position.
