Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding FACILITIES MANAGER 1984 in Pascagoula, Mississippi

This is a FACILITIES MANAGER position located in the Pascagoula, Ms area. 

GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring facilities are safe and well-functioning while optimizing the use of space and equipment and reducing operating costs. Direct involvement in development of new facilities as well as planning and implementation of the facility infrastructures and utility systems, including preventative and predictive maintenance. Reports directly to the Vice President of Production.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, infrastructure, buildings etc.) and refurbishments. Manage the maintenance and upkeep of yard equipment and supplies, in addition to facilities to meet health and safety standards. Inspect all buildings to determine the need for repairs or renovations. Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs. Supervise the facilities department staff and external subcontractors. Responsible for overseeing general day-to-day activities, i.e. parking allocation, waste disposal, grounds upkeep etc. Plan and allocate office space to ensure a functional, effective and synergistic workforce. Support the handling of service contracts pertaining to infrastructure. Maintain department financial and non-financial records. Perform department financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proven experience as facilities and maintenance manager or relevant position. Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices. Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Good analytical/critical thinking

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or related field and/or related course work plus a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field required. Equivalent job training and work experience in a closely related field or any combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skill and ability. Relevant professional qualification with extensive previous facilities experience desired. Shipbuilding industry experience preferred.
