This Position is for a Logistician I with a work location in Pascagoula, MS.

Actively seeking a highly motivated Logistician in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The Logistician plays a pivotal role in supporting logistical operations. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities from procurement and inventory management to technical support and liaison duties with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational and technical skills to manage procurement, inventory, and documentation tasks effectively while demonstrating proficiency in MS Office and database operations. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of military terms (especially Navy) and practices.

Typical Responsibilities:

Initiate purchase requests for each hull for all necessary consumable office supplies and assist in the inventory and issuance of consumable items.

Participate in documentation reviews to identify discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.

Assist the ship's Supply Officer during Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) inventory and track material shortage lists.

Provide technical support to the Supply Department and incorporate previous lessons learned.

Assist the command with tracking the requisitioning, expediting and receipt of materials.

Coordinate the distribution and management of government provided industrial safety gear (hard hats, safety glasses, etc.) to crew personnel.

Assist the Supply Department Head with instructions, notices, and various technical documentation.

Liaison with NAVSEA, SUPSHIP, the shipbuilder, and vendors for resolving logistics issues.

Provide monthly status progress reports.

Develop and maintain lessons learned for certifications, ship trials, Crew Move Aboard (CMA), training, and sail away.

Manage databases and update the order status of purchase requests.

Track the progress of the POA&M for Supply Officer and assist with resolution for delinquent requirements.

Location: Full time onsite in Pascagoula, MS.

Typical Physical Activity: Physical labor in a warehouse environment. May involve: kneeling, lifting, or reaching. Must be able to physically maneuver onboard US Navy ships including accessing high and confined spaces and lift up to 25 pounds.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required:

â?¯This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (preferred) OR be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire.

Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

At least three (3) years of demonstrated experience providing similar support, preferably in the U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, or Coast Guard marketplaces.

Strong computer skills in the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

Prior database experience with the ability to operate and update the Fleet Introduction Plan of Action and Milestone Program, Lessons Learned, and Integrated Logistics Support databases.

Ability to provide the ships with programs, technical documentation and deliverables electronically during crew development through move-aboard.

A solid understanding of military terms (especially Navy) and practices.

Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task to address competing priorities.

Sound judgment in resolving various problems and making routine recommendations.

Effective written and oral communication skills are essential in this team orientated-customer service position.
