Commander, Navy Installations HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the HOUSING AND LODGING DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. Responsibilities You will develop plans (e.g., short-term, long-term) for the construction, renovation, and re-capitalization of housing assets, housing facilities, and other real properties. You will develop directives and procedures for the housing program services to ensure compliance with controlling regulations. You will lead regular or periodic surveys to identify housing requirements or deficiencies. You will formulate proposals concerning funds, personnel, and materials to accomplish housing activities. You will conduct studies and surveys of family housing regulations governing quality of life to recommend new regulations or amendments to improve housing administrative policies and living conditions for occupants. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing coordination and scheduling of repair, renovation, and other work efforts for a Housing organization; 2) Analyzing proposed programs and legislation affecting housing, housing construction and funding requirements for housing programs and advising higher authority of potential impacts; 3) Assisting with and resolving issues relative to policy development, policy interpretation and implementation, program management, oversight, compliance of business agreements and administration of housing activities for government-owned, leased, rented and/or PPV Family, Unaccompanied and Transient Housing. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
