Hilton Event Operations Supervisor in Perth, Australia

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

RESPONSIBILITIES

Guests

You will help to create exceptional experiences for our guests by:

·Making sure that all clients, especially return clients, feel valued and welcomed - every guest, every event, every time!

·Leading shift huddles, ensuring the team is briefed on VIP guests, bookings and events. You will note any possible issues which may occur in advance, thus ensuring seamless service delivery.

·Pro-actively assisting the hotel team in solving any guest issues or complaints; encouraging the team to use their initiative, the HEART model, Make It Right and your departmental empowerment guidelines.

·Checking SALT Meeting Planner, reviewing and communication comments and results to the team; making recommendations for improvement to service delivery and the guest experience.

·Checking shift log books, making sure that all client activity is noted and followed up promptly.

·Assisting the management team in training for Event Operations; suggesting refresher and additional training on areas to enhance the guest experience.

·Be hands on and on the floor; leading the way and showing a shining example of hospitality to the team.

·Managing functions and rooms as directed by the Event Operations Manager and Assistant Event Operations Manager.

·Interdepartmental collaboration, particularly with our Sales and F&B Outlets teams, thus ensuring a seamless experience for the guest.

·Liaise with event organisers, taking care of their unique requirements on the day; ensuring their experience is stress free and their impression is a hospitable one!

Team

As Event Operations Supervisor, you will help ensure that the work environment is safe, happy and productive by:

·Supervising on-shift team members, assisting and following up on any issues incurred or queries raised.

·Being there for our team members, offering support and encouragement where needed and ensuring that they are happy in their department

·Ensuring proper use of equipment and that the team conduct themselves in a manner consistent with OH&S practices, departmental procedures and brand standards.

·Assisting to your managers in ensuring timely completion of brand required training including but not limited to, monthly Blue Energy Learning Conversations and job skills checklist for new starters.

·Influencing GTMS results in a positive way, by raising training needs or making suggestions to your managers, assisting in the timely completion of performance development reviews, pulse checks and care

·Rewarding and encouraging your fellow team members for positive behaviour and excellent results!

·Work towards your replacement – identify, train and develop so that you may develop your career

Occupational Safety and Health

·Provide the necessary leadership to ensure the Occupational Safety and Health and Injury Management provisions of the OSHIM system are always carried out and to the stated standard.

·Take the necessary management actions and make decisions consistent with the intention of the OSH Management Plan and the OSH Commitment.

·Develop and implement plans, procedures and actions to meet OSH strategic objectives and targets.

·Ensure minimum standards are established and maintained for plant, materials, equipment, product, buildings and Team Member work activities.

·Manage workplace injuries by the Return-to-Work policy and procedures, ensuring injured workers are effectively managed and an early return to the workplace is achieved  Undertake workplace risk assessments in consultation with Team Members

·Ensure identified hazards are controlled by an established hierarchy of control

·Ensure control actions are implemented promptly

·Ensure sufficient and suitable personal protective equipment is provided, suitably maintained, and correctly used when required

·Monitor contractor OSH performance in area of responsibility

·Take any other such action that is necessary to guarantee the integrity of the OSH Management Plan and its requirements

The ideal candidate will have :

  • MUST have RSA certificate
  • Hospitality/Tourism or Hotel Management Certificate or equivalent (desired)
  • 2 years' experience in any supervision experience (desired)
  • Approved Managers (desired) or willing to obtain.
  • First Aid Certificate (desired)
  • able to start immediately
  • Australian working rights (minimum 10 months)
  • Current National Police Clearance (less than 6 months)
