Oracle Data Engineering Team Lead in PETACH TIKVA, Israel

Job Description

Oracle Cloud University, an education arm of Oracle, delivers comprehensive, high quality digital training focused on Oracle Cloud Applications to a global market. With over 500,000 Oracle University graduates, Oracle University is the largest software training business in the world.

The position entails research, design, development, and ownership of data driven products under the Oracle Cloud University products, building batch systems that process billions of events a day, microservices and building ML & Data infrastructures.

We are working with leading edge open-source technologies, like K8s, Docker, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, CI\CD frameworks, Python, Spark, and more. We strive to use the latest tools and technologies.

We are looking for a proactive and autonomous person that can identify a path forward and execute on it, potentially building a new Big Data Team.A person who has both a passion for hands on development of distributed systems as well as loves solving complex problems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment .

What you'll do:

  • Be the go-to person for the Full Stack team regarding all Data Engineering issues while working closely with the Product, Development and Data Science Teams.

  • Identify needs while taking full ownership on projects & choosing the right technologies for the mission

  • Recruiting and leading a team from the ground up, working on the biggest challenges the industry faces.

  • Develop, test & deploy and fully own the end-to-end cycle

  • Design & adapt code to be scalable to process several petabytes of data

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of industry experience in similar positions

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Experience in building microservices, object-oriented design and databases

  • Experience in using deployment & CI/CD tools such as AWS, K8s, Docker, Jenkins

  • Experience with modern & high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, Scala

  • Curiosity with a willingness to experiment & learn

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Big Data technologies & Data pipelines such as spark, Hadoop, Airflow

  • Experience as a Team Leader and passion for working with people and managing other Developers
