The City of Pflugerville is offering Swim Instructors a one-time Longevity Bonus of up to $500, payable at the end of the season! We also have a referral program.
We are seeking our next Swim Instructor to join our team! The person we seek will believe in and exhibit the City's P.F.I.R.S.T. core values: Positive, Forward-thinking, Integrity, Resilience, Service, and Teamwork.
As a Swim Instructor for the City, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the daily pool operations to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Prepare swim lesson plans and adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of the participants.
Adequately cover all skills required for a given level.
Ensure the safety of facility patrons.
Regularly and respectfully interact with parents and/or participants to provide feedback.
Other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the ability to effectively supervise groups of children, swim comfortably in up to 6 feet of water, and have excellent organizational skills.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old by the time swim instruction begins and be able to attend Water Safety Instructor Training.
Must possess a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or be able to complete certification.
