Description

Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a dynamic individual to join one of our clients as an Interim Controller. This leadership role involves creating a conducive atmosphere of mentorship, overseeing our accounting department, and fostering a culture of accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the supervision, oversight, and management of all strategic and operational aspects of the accounting department, ensuring efficacy, efficiency, and conformity with organizational policies and procedures.

• Conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of the company's staffing requirements to ascertain the need for any adjustments to current staffing levels, including the evaluation of potential recruitment, restructuring, or retrenchment.

• Implement regular performance evaluations for all accounting staff, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative metrics to assess their effectiveness, efficiency, and adherence to organizational standards and expectations.

• Exercise immaculate management of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all related transactions and postings.

• Diligently monitor all payroll, revenue, expense, balance sheet, and cash flow activities and transactions, ensuring transparency, efficacy, and alignment with the company's financial objectives.

• Regularly create detailed financial and non-financial reports, compiling and analyzing data to track the company's performance, identify trends, and facilitate strategic decision-making processes.

• Oversee the proper management of inventory, implementing routine cycle counts, physical counts, and recording adjustments to ensure accurate inventory figures.

• Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial statements in accordance with the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), thereby showing the correct financial position of the company.

• Properly prepare and post all necessary journal entries, ensuring that they adequately and accurately represent all related financial transactions.

• Ensure the accurate recording of intercompany transactions, allowing for appropriate tracking and reconciliation of all intercompany account balances.

• Conduct complete and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations regularly, ensuring that all account balances accurately represent the company's financial situation.

• Regularly carry out bank accounts reconciliations and analysis to provide accurate financial track records, to detect inconsistencies, and to come up with process improvements.

• Responsible for the generation of cash forecasts, taking into account all inflows and outflows, to better anticipate future business needs and financial requirements.

Requirements

• Proficient in managing all Accounting Functions within a manufacturing environment.

• Solid knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Prior experience in auditing, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accuracy in reports.

• Skilled in managing budget processes, including planning, forecasting, and reporting.

• Familiarity with the construction industry, particularly in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing sector.

• Understanding of the 'percentage (%) of completion' method in accounting.

• Experience with Sage 50 software for managing accounting tasks.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and prepare reports.

• Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, clients, and team members.

• Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions based on financial data.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field is required.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.
