Work location: Phoenix, AZ

Wage: \$131,768.00 - \$150,000.00 / per year*

Job Duties:

Responsible for overseeing and managing projects from conceptual design through construction completion. This role involves coordinating and supervising all aspects of the structural design process through completion of the construction administration phase, ensuring that the structural components are designed, modeled, detailed, and delivered in accordance with the projects scope, budget, and schedule expectations. The Structural Project Manager will work closely with the design and construction team members to deliver a safe and cost-efficient structural design that meets or exceeds GPLAs standards and expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a comprehensive plan that defines the project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines. This involves collaborating with the design and construction teams to assess structural requirements and estimating the necessary resources.
  • Assemble, mentor, and lead a team of design engineers, modelers, and detailers. This involves assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring effective collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Monitor project costs, track expenses, and manage the project budget.
  • Identify and pursue change orders due to modifications to the projects scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Review project deliverables and calculations to ensure that the scope and quality standards are met throughout the projects life cycle.
  • Coordinate and oversee the production of drawings, specifications, and calculations during a projects design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents.
  • Coordinate and oversee the completion of various construction administration tasks, such as, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and making site visits.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials.
  • Perform calculations and analyses to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Utilize CAD software and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality design solutions within budget.
  • Conduct and actively participate in project design meetings. Some responsibilities may include setting agendas, taking notes, and providing meeting minutes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, code updates, and advancements in structural design techniques and technologies by actively participating in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in structural engineering and project management.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering with structural concentration, or related and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, experience in the job offered or in the building structural engineering field.

Special Requirements:

Position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure
