Naval Sea Systems Command ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey

Summary This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-2 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-5 through GS-8; the NT-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-9 and GS-10. You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist in the Systems Integration Department; Naval Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) Division (Code G1) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. Responsibilities You will perform inventory management for program assets managed in the Ordnance Information System (OIS) including inert and ordnance. You will collect and provide metrics, inventory management and control. You will perform all manners of transactions in the Ordnance Information System (OIS) required to keep the organization in compliance with NAVSUP P-805. You will assist in the creation of related standard processes, policies and procedures for the division. You will assist with quality assurance inspections of various logistics functions including, but not limited to, receiving, storage, packing, inventory control, and causative research. You will support the Command Inventory Accuracy Office during their inspections and support the department during our Explosive Safety Inspections (ESIs). You will coordinate with our warehouse and transportation team on the receipt, issue and transportation of inert ordnance coming into and leaving the Detachment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications TO QUALIFY FOR NT-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-2 pay band (GS-5 through GS-8 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying basic procedures of inventory management for the receipt, issuance or storage of an organization's ordnance inventory. TO QUALIFY FOR NT-2: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year of which was at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to (1) analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; (2) plan and organize work; and (3) communicate effectively orally and in writing. Education TO QUALIFY FOR NT-3: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: A master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR An LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled; OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. TO QUALIFY FOR NT-2: In lieu of general experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree; OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
