The billing coordinator position is responsible for initiating contact with various Medicare and Medicaid payers to resolve outstanding claims for charges incurred at FirstHealth and taking further action to facilitate full excepted reimbursement in accordance with current government and payer regulations. This position plays an important role in maintaining accounts receivables for their designated payers by promptly pursuing unsettled insurance accounts in the method and manner expected by policies, procedures, regulations and based on expected productivity and quality standards. Education: + High school graduate or equivalency, required. + An associate degree, preferred. + Three to five years medical billing/reimbursement experience in a hospital or other medical office, preferred. Additional skills: + Experience with EPIC software, preferred. + Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and insurance reimbursement guidelines, preferred. + Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as good organizational skills. + Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), preferred.
