CMU's Computing Services department is searching for a SPLUNK Program Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by directing and leading a comprehensive technical infrastructure program that ensures a reliable, secure, and scalable production environment for Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security. In this role, the Program Lead coordinates with teams across multiple groups within the central Information Technology organization, including Information Security, creating and maintaining effective relationships both within the organization and with direct campus customers. The Program Lead is tasked with developing key principles and architecture to support the program, ensuring that these artifacts are up to date, technically relevant, and properly integrated with existing and new processes. Additionally, the Program Lead ensures the proper operation of day-to-day services, including the processes of onboarding, maintenance and retirement of datasets, and identifies and implements actions to keep the program modern and relevant. The Program Lead also provides necessary technical and project management assistance to ensure the tasks are executed successfully and on-time. To be successful in this role, the Program Lead must have strong leadership and coordination skills, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Proficiency in ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable Splunk Enterprise production environments is essential, along with strong technical and project management skills. Familiarity with modern technologies (such as cloud integrations and containerized environments), strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, and the capacity to drive and manage change within an organization are highly preferred.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Collaborates with Computing Services and other campus leaders to improve services/systems. Collaborates with senior director and/or divisional leader and other external parties to support the SII program.

Directs IT staff supporting enterprise-wide technology, processes or service delivery.

Establishes departmental strategies, policies, and procedures. Senior contributor to IT direction and decisions.

Leadership of and participation in division-wide initiatives in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.

Leads significant operational activities and/or major technology projects.

Professional development and training.

Project management of strategic and complex operational projects including, but not limited to, the database component of enterprise application upgrades and database upgrades.

Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree

5-8 years with information technology project management experience

5-8 years with IT security experience

3-5 years with network administration experience

5-8 years with operating system administration experience

5-8 years with systems/software engineering experience

5-8 years with systems programming experience
