DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Service Desk Development program focuses on bringing career focused individuals into the Global IT organization with the primary goals of developing future IT leaders. The program gives new hires the ability to work with all of PPG's employees as part of our 24x7x365 Service Desk. New hires will utilize the ITIL methodology best practices of Incident, Problem and Knowledge Center support as they provide customers with support about IT services. This is a fully work from home position with the ability to work out of a Regional Technology Center office on an as needed basis.
Service Analyst Associate: Key Responsibilities * Identify, research and resolve technical problems * Handle incoming telephone calls, online chats and emails for technical support * Document, track and monitor problems to ensure resolutions for customer * Participants will be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to help users and will receive on-the-job training, yearly corporate training and individualized training to help you grow personally and professionally.
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in information science or disciplines related to Information Technology is preferred * Willingness to work in a 24x7x365 environment * Ability to succeed in the Service Desk role while engaging interest to develop into other roles * Need to fluently speak and write in English.
Future Opportunities This program role specifically targets to develop participants for an obligatory future transition to the Architectural Coatings Retail IT Desk based in the United States. This transition includes different technology tracks or the possibility of other areas of IT including Strategic Business Units or IT Support and Application Services. PPG is still working with the Architectural Coatings SBU to determine a timeline, but we expect the transition to take place in the next 6-18 months. Eligibility to transition will vary based on performance, desired career track and job availabilities.
