Hatch is currently seeking aSr. Systems Engineering Managerfor our North American operations. In this role the successful candidate will lead and develop a systems practice in coordination with Hatch’s successful global practice rail practice. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the systems engineering practice (ISO 15288) in the rail industry and a proven track record in engineering management, group leadership, and business development.

Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Supervise the staff and work production of the Systems Engineering group.

  • Provide leadership, direction and technical guidance to staff to ensure that quality technical services are provided to clients and that the systems engineering group meets its operating performance targets.

  • Project production, project acquisition/client relations, and financial management of the system engineering group to ensure quality, client satisfaction, continued production backlog, and profitability of all projects within the group.

  • Responsible for generation of new work through client relationships

Requirements:

The appropriately qualified candidate will have the following core competencies and required experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A post graduate degree is preferred.

  • Fifteen years of experience is preferred, with at least five of these years in positions with project management or supervisory responsibilities.

  • Thorough knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering management including but not limited to requirements management, configuration management, and verification and validation.

  • Working knowledge of DOORS and/or other requirements and configuration management tool

  • Technical knowledge and background in railway operations & systems including: signaling, communications, electrification, system safety, systems integration, and human factors engineering

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, including technical writing) is required.

  • Ablity and experience training and developing staff and educate clients
