Hatch is currently seeking aSr. Systems Engineering Managerfor our North American operations. In this role the successful candidate will lead and develop a systems practice in coordination with Hatch’s successful global practice rail practice. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the systems engineering practice (ISO 15288) in the rail industry and a proven track record in engineering management, group leadership, and business development.
Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:
Supervise the staff and work production of the Systems Engineering group.
Provide leadership, direction and technical guidance to staff to ensure that quality technical services are provided to clients and that the systems engineering group meets its operating performance targets.
Project production, project acquisition/client relations, and financial management of the system engineering group to ensure quality, client satisfaction, continued production backlog, and profitability of all projects within the group.
Responsible for generation of new work through client relationships
Requirements:
The appropriately qualified candidate will have the following core competencies and required experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A post graduate degree is preferred.
Fifteen years of experience is preferred, with at least five of these years in positions with project management or supervisory responsibilities.
Thorough knowledge of INCOSE systems engineering management including but not limited to requirements management, configuration management, and verification and validation.
Working knowledge of DOORS and/or other requirements and configuration management tool
Technical knowledge and background in railway operations & systems including: signaling, communications, electrification, system safety, systems integration, and human factors engineering
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, including technical writing) is required.
Ablity and experience training and developing staff and educate clients
