Hyatt Food and Beverage Manager in PLACENCIA, Belize

Description:

The Food & Beverage Manager at The Placencia Resort is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort's food and beverage operations. This includes managing restaurants, bar, and events & catering services to ensure guest satisfaction by delivering the highest quality of service whilst maintaining & improving F&B profitability. The role involves strategic planning, staff management, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, Front of House

  • Ensure efficient, high-quality service that meets Hyatt’s standards on a local level.

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

  • Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control costs.

  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.

  • Negotiate with suppliers and manage inventory & stock take.

  • Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff as per Hyatt’s policies and local requirements

  • Schedule staff shifts and manage labour costs.

  • Foster a positive working environment and ensure staff are motivated and aligned with the resort’s and the company’s goals.

  • Guest Experience:

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally.

  • Menu Development:

  • Collaborate with the Chef to create and update menus.

  • Beverage knowledge is essential to create beverage menus packages and to implement new trends in the beverage operation.

  • Ensure menu items are profitable and meet quality standards.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and incorporate new ideas.

  • Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits.

  • Implement and monitor food safety programs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a resort or luxury hotel setting, remote location experience is a plus.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial F&B Management.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and MS Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of local and international cuisines and beverage trends.

  • Certification in food safety and hygiene is a plus.
