The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology (EP) medical device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Braiding Manufacturing area.

What You'll Work On

  • Provide engineering support to existing manufacturing process, tooling and fixtures to meet daily production schedules

  • Improve productivity and product quality

  • Lead launch of new designs of braided components for downstream usage across Abbott Medical Device

  • Coaches and mentors less experienced engineers to help them use production equipment or resolve problems.

  • Understand manufacturing concepts like Value Stream mapping, 5S and Visual Workplace to improve quality, labor efficiency, throughput

  • Work with cross functional teams

  • Resolve and facilitate resolution of problems, identify root causes and prevent re-occurrence.

Required Qualifications

  • Four year degree in an engineering technical field, preferably mechanical, chemical, biomedical, or Material Science.

  • 5+ years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills

  • Solid computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), Minitab

  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device and manufacturing related experience preferred.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
